Facials are usually about bullying your skin into submission with exfoliating and deep pore cleansing that leaves us looking red and splotchy for a few days afterward. The HydraFacial treatment gives us the same results without all that bullying, and no vivid after effects either. It’s great for all skin types and targets hyperpigmentation, oily or congested pores, fine lines, and wrinkles. It’s a 4-step process that takes about 20-30 minutes to perform.
The first step involves cleansing and exfoliation using a “deplaning tool,” which often reminds clients of an electric toothbrush spinning its way across the skin. It opens up pores and sweeps away dead skin cells and make up that’s been left behind.
The next step is a glycolic/salicylic acid peel. Unlike most glycolic peels, this one doesn’t sting your skin. It just leaves it with a slight tingle, and it still reveals a fresh, new layer of skin cells.
Probably the most satisfying step is the vacuum. This is the extraction phase, but unlike traditional facials that rely upon manual extraction, this one uses a special vortex-extraction nozzle to vacuum away any remaining debris. You can see just how much there was in the little cup at the bottom of the machine.
The final step uses a vortex-fusion tool that applies a serum rich in antioxidants and collagen to your skin. This promotes your skin’s natural elasticity and aids in hydration.
